How could you refuse, if the day before your death sentence would be carried on, some members of said organization showed up at your cell and offered you an opportunity of living? Granted, their generosity wouldn't be for free... but, what is serving as subject for a couple experiments in comparison of living? Of course, after that, your life would never be the same. From there on, you would have to risk your neck to accomplish whatever mission the Black Sun assigned you. But how could you refuse? After all, the Black Sun grants you an opportunity of living...

After a series of horrifying experiments, ex-convicts are gifted with "Powers". Superhuman strength, the ability to jump higher, control over fire, wind, earth, and more... but all this with a price. If a certain substance isn't taken every month, you will die. The Black Sun organization, however, will provide you with said substance... as long as you do as it says.

Following a great war, this planet, Neon Five, has entered into a stage called the "Black Sunrise", for the whole world has fallen to the Black Sun Empire. And what is worse, the first order the Emperor has given was apparently the liquidation of the beastmasters genre; people born with the ability of shifting into animals, a race that has lived alongside the humans since immemorial times. His reasons remain unknown, but rumors are that it may just be racism...

In order to avoid panic, however, the Emperor has ordered the beastmaster's extermination to be secret. And here is where those formerly on death-row come in. It is kill or be killed.

In order to avoid total annihilation, the beastmasters have fled into clandestinity. Many live in the streets, banding together in hopes for a better chance of survival. But the hunters are forever stalking...
